BJP Legislator's PSOs arrested for thrashing civilian on highway

Anantnag, May 1: Jammu and Kashmir Police has arrested two personal security guards (PSOs) of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator after they allegedly thrashed a civilian on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway for not giving passage to the legislator's vehicle.
According to reports, the incident took place at Banihal last night at around 9 pm. They said that the PSOs of a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator-MLC Sofi Yousf- thrashed a civilian Amir Saleem for not giving passage to the vehicle of the MLC on the Srinagar-Jammu highway at Banihal despite being signalled.
They security guards also opened fire in air after locals assembled and caught hold of the guards for assaulting the civilian.
However, locals managed to handover the guards to Banihal police.
An official informed Early Times that both the security guards of legislator were booked and a case was registered against them on a written complaint under FIR number 61/2018 u/s 307 341 323 RPC and 7/27 Arms act at police station Banihal.
The youth thrashed by the PSO is a son of another BJP leader Muhammad Saleem Bhat of Banihal.
