ET report vindicated

Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 1: Rupesh Kumar, the RSS Prant Pracharak for J&K, played crucial role in ensuring ouster of some prominent BJP faces in the cabinet reshuffle, vindicating the exclusive news report of Early Times.
The replacement of Ramesh Pappa with Rupesh Kumar as the Prant Pracharak proved grave for former Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, who was removed from the top position in Monday's reshuffle, while Bali Bhagat and Priya Sethi also had to suffer the jolt because of adverse report against them by the main RSS man in J&K.
According to sources, Rupesh had strongly recommended for ouster of the trio, who was considered to be very close to his predecessor Ramesh Pappa.
Complaints against the trio were already there but then Prant Pracharak Ramesh Pappa vetoed any action against them, sources added.
However, with Rupesh taking charge as Prant Pracharak, it was not possible for the BJP high command to further defend the trio. This was the reason that names of Bali Bhagat and Priya Sethi were dropped as soon as a recommendation for the same was made by the RSS man.
Even as BJP national general secretary and incharge J&IK affairs Ram Madhav tried his level best to defend NIrmal Singh and let him continue as the Deputy CM, sources said that Rupesh registered his strong dissent against the same and insisted that the reshuffle would be incomplete without changing the main face.
It may be recalled that the Early Times had predicted major changes in BJP, both at government and organization level with the taking over of Rupesh as the Prant Pracharak.
In its March 13 issue, this newspaper had carried an exclusive report headlined 'Appointment of Rupesh Kumar sets cat among Pappa loyalists in BJP', indicating about possible changes in power equations within BJP circles.
The ET report had very clearly mentioned, quoting the reliable sources in Sangh Parivar, that the new Prant Pracharak was likely to clip wings of some high profile BJP ministers who were taking undue benefit of their proximity with Ramesh Pappa, who has been now assigned the responsibility of Sah-Prachar Pramukh in the RSS central body.
