| PHE workers held protest at Kishtwar, demands implementation of SRO 520 | | |

Kishtwar, May 14: PHE works of Hydraulic Division Kishtwar today held a strong protest against the Coalition Government in which they demanded the implementation of SRO 520 in toto.
As per the details available with Early Times, the CP workers and daily wagers today as a part of 72 hour long strike demanded implementation of SRO 520 with regard to regularisation of 61000 casual laborers announced by the government in November 2017. They said that they have not been paid their salary for the last several months. They strongly criticized the authorities sitting at the helm of affairs who are unable to realise as to how and from where these workers feed their families for years without any source of income. They demanded that the complete arrears of their salary be paid to them before the Eid Festival.
Later they also held a protest march towards Dak Bunglow Kishtwar from PHE Sub Division office Kishtwar and block the road for fee hours.
They said that all the documentation for regularisation has been submitted by the DDOs to higher authorities and called upon the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to fulfill her promise without any delay. They said that in case the government fails to meet the demands, they will intensify it's protest beside will also block the water supply in the District. |
