As per the details available with ET, the complainant Irshad Ahmed son of Abdul Rashid Zarger Resident of Tanggwari along with his family members approached the Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar alleging grant of undue favor to accused persons by registering the FIR under bailable offenses and putting the accused persons on liberty. Besides, the complainant also accused police of mounting pressure to compromise with the accused persons.
The complainant Irshad Ahmed Zarger in his complaint stated that officcials posted at PS Kishtwar changed contents of his application (formal complaint) on their own to provide undue favor to accused persons.
He stated that on 13-05-2018 at about 4 PM, he was attacked by the two accused with Axes with criminal intention to kill him in which he was seriously injured.
He stated that he submitted a written application in English to Station House Officer Police Officer Kishtwar and presented himself before him in injured condition when he was in pool of blood. He alleged that his complaint was completely fudged and replaced by another complaint written in Urdu, which narrated a self -cooked story to favour the accused.
He stated that he was forced to put his signatures on some papers at Police Station Kishtwar and a sub inspector misbehaved with him and used unparliamentary language. He was taken to District Hospital Kishtwar where he was treated and received multiple stitches while the accused were let free by the police and were now threatening him.
He urged upon the SP Kishtwar to enquire into the matter by constituting the team of honest officers and take the action against the erring police officers after registering an FIR in accordance with his complaint.
Speaking to ET, the family members of the complainant said that they approached SP Kishtwar along with their application, but he did not accept the same. They said that they have even forwarded the complaint to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, Commissioner Secretary Home, Commissioner State Human Rights Commission Srinagar, Director General of Police J&K and IGP ZPHQ Jammu. They urged upon the concern authorities to send the application to FSL for identification of the police personal who fudged their application to favour the accused.
