Doda: Arrangements for annual Yatras finalized

BHADERWAH, July 1: The District Development Commissioner Doda Bhawani Rakwal today chaired a meeting to finalize the arrangements for the smooth conduct of upcoming annual yatras in the district besides festivals and fairs celebrated locally.
The meeting was attended by ADC Bhaderwah Pawan Parihar, CEO BDA Rajinder Prasad Khajuria, ASP Rajinder Singh, Tehsildar Bhaderwah Masood Ahmed, Executive Engineer PWD, AEE Irrigation, BMO, EO Municipal Committee, AEE PHE/PDD/ PMGSY besides other Tehsil Officers, representatives of Sanathan Dhara Sabha Bhaderwah, Kailesh Sewa Sangh, besides other senior officers. .
President Sanathan Dharam Sabha, Bhaderwah informed the meeting about the dates and schedules of various forthcoming yatras and sought same level of cooperation as extended by the tehsil administration every year.
The president Sanathan Dharam Sabha informed that the Chandi Mata Yatra shall be held on July 17 and 18, 2018. The Machail Yatra will start from Chinote on August 18th, the Ist Mani Mahesh Yatra will commence from August 20 and will conclude on September 3, 2018, the 2nd Mani Mahesh yatra shall begin on 3 September and end on 17 September 2018, he added.
He further informed that Shri Krishan Janam Ashtimi would be celebrated on September 3, 2018 and Shri Kailash Yatra shall commence from September 6 to September 8, 2018, Mela Pat will be held at Khakhal Bhaderwah from September 14 , 2018 to September 16 2018.
The Sanathan Dharam Sabha called upon the administration to make foolproof security arrangements for the pilgrims and ensure maintenance of roads, availability of drinking water, presence of medical staff along the route of Yatra and other arrangements for yatras.
Responding to the issues raised by the Sabha, the DDC issued directions to the concerned with respect to different yatras which are going to be held at different dates and venues.
The DDC stressed on making drinking water available along the route of yatras by the department of PHE and while R&B was asked to maintain the roads well for smooth plying of vehicles en-route. To ensure the safety of pilgrims, the Police was asked to deploy sufficient number of personnel along all the Yatra routes.
