Manhunt has been launched to nab several others who are part of the active terror module in Kishtwar town and other parts of the District.
As per the details available with ET, Kishtwar police has smashed a terror module of banned terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen in the district and arrested one HM militant, a government teacher in education department and one active Over Ground Worker (OGW) of Hizbul Mujahideen.
Speaking at a press conference, SP Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary said that the district police Kishtwar has been working since last many days to crack the terror module of banned outfit Hizbul Mujahideen aimed at revival of the militancy in the district by lobbing grenades.
He said that the police after authentication of its field information laid naka points at a couple of places in the vicinity of Kishtwar town and intercepted a Hizbul militant about whom police had information of ferrying the arms & explosive to his mentor and Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Amin Bhat@ Jehangir Saroori and to induct the fresh youth into the militancy. On his personal search police recovered from his possession a Chinese pistol with magazine and live pistol cartridges and two high power hand grenades, beside some documents of the terrorist outfit.
"He was arrested on the spot and arms & ammunition recovered from his custody has been seized on the spot. The arrested terrorist has been identified as Rameez Ahmed Wani son of Master Javed Ahmed Wani resident of Tandar Dachan" said Abrar chowdhary.
He said that on the arrest and interrogation of the Hizbul Militant Rameez Ahmed Wani, it was ascertained that a number of other persons in and around Kishtwar town have been working as Over Ground Workers of banned terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideenand are attempting to conduct fresh recruitment beside arranging & procuring arms & ammunition for new terrorist recruitments.
"On the disclosure of the arrested terrorist police conducted raids and arrested one active OGW Nissar Ahmed Ganie S/O Bashir Ahmed Ganie originally a resident of Amratgarh Tehsil Charala of district Doda and at present residing in Deewaro Link Road Kishtwar. During the sustained interrogation of Nissar police has recovered three magazines of AK-47 rifle from his possession along with 90 live rounds of AK-47rifle. Nissar Ahmed Ganie OGW is also running a Madarsa in Kishtwar town with the name Darul-ul-loom Usmania since the year 2013" Said SP Kishtwar and added that "in the premises of Madarsa he (Nisar) had established his office and under the garb & guise of Madarsa manager and teacher he is continuing his OGW activities".
He said that during the further course of interrogation Nissar disclosed that consignment of arms & ammunition was recovered from the custody of militant Rameez. He also arranged him by paying Rs. 1.70 lac from another active OGW and money for the same from Hizb organization was paid by him to the OGW from whom the Chinese pistol and grenades were recovered.
"Nissar is involved in OGW activities mainly in procuring the arms & ammunition for the new terrorist inductions by paying the hizb money and is also involved in harboring the agents & conduits & co-coordinating their activities. The police had kept under surveillance the activities of Molvi Nissar Ahmed Ganie since December last year" added Abrar Chowdhary.
During the sustained interrogation of the arrested Hizb militant & OGW it was further ascertained that they were under the instructions from their mentor & Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Jehangir Saroori to lob grenade at busy localities in the district to create scare and fear psychosis among the public.
"By arresting the culprits & recovering arms from their possession including live hand grenades-- police has averted a major tragedy in the district" he said added that during his further interrogation, the Hizbul arrested terrorist Rameez disclosed that he is working as active militant of Hizb since the last three years. He has, however, not performed an open major terror act so far in order to maintain the concealment of his terrorist identity since he is entrusted with the job of recruiting & inducting the fresh youth in terror net on the instructions of Jehangir Saroori. He said that in the year 2017, he recruited two youths one Ikhlaq Ahmed and another Reyaz Ahmed wani and provided them a pistol and two grenades and were instructed to perform a terror strike in valley as a trail under the close supervision of another Hizbul hardcore OGW Touseef Ahmed Gundana son of Master Ghulam Nabi Gundna of Kishtwar.
"When the trio was in the process of planning a terror strike in Srinagar district the alert police party of police station Parimpora arrested them from its jurisdiction along with a pistol and grenades in their possession. The Parimpora police station had registered FIR No. 41/2017 in police station Parimpora in this regard and all the three arrested terrorists later got bailed out" he said added that police is in the process to arrest them.
He said that the police parties under the supervision of Additional SP Kishtwar Parbeet Singh are searching another youth of Dachhan who has been mentally prepared by Rameez to join the outfit and was also waiting for arms and ammunition from him.
It is pertinent to mention that the younger brother of Rameez was studying in Islamic college Srinagar from where he fled away in the month of in July 2017 & is missing since then. As per the details he too has joined the terror outfit in 2017, disclosed the SP Kishtwar.
