Violating HC directions, Ranbir Press refuses to absorb inker feeder candidates
7/1/2018 10:23:02 PM
EarlyTimes Report
JAMMU, July 1: The Ranbir Government Press Amphalla has allegedly refused to absorb the candidates, who had applied for the posts of Inker Feeder nearly eight years back, despite clear directions from Jammu and Kashmir High Court to absorb them for technical posts of Inker feeder.
Addressing media persons, the aggrieved candidates said that around 35 unemployed youth, who are about to cross the upper age limit, have been running from pillar to post for the last around one decade to get jobs in the Press, as per the Recruitment rules. But despite having adequate qualifications and having done Apprenticeship Training Course in Press Trade, conducted by Jammu & Kashmir Technical Education Department, they find themselves unemployed.
The Present General Manager proposes reorganisation of Ranbir Government press by reduction of technical posts of Inker Feeders/Helpers and the vested officials are allegedly trying to change the recruitment rules, they alleged.
The candidates had applied for the posts of Inker Feeder in Ranbir Government Press vide Advertisement No. 1 of 2009 dated 16th December 2009 and another Advertisement No. 1 of 2010 Dated 28th June 2010.
We had challenged the 2nd Advertisement in the High Court, which decided in their favour but still, no steps have been taken to get these candidates adjusted in the Press, they said.
While appealing the Governor NN Vohra, they said, "In the past eight years the issue remained lingering on. There is a conspiracy to change the Recruitment Rules for their own petty interest to accommodate their own kith and kin which were not otherwise eligible."
"Despite a stay order from the Hon'ble High Court in the case, the Finance Department has given another concurrence to the reorganization proposal submitted by the General Manager of its Ministerial Staff and even its executive staff (including own post of General Manager) of the department also by reduction of our technical feeding cadre posts of Inker Feeders and helpers post only and file for issuance of orders is under process in the ARI & Training Department," they maintained.
"Since the advertisement of posts, the government remained in accusing over technological advancement and failed to initiating a reorganisation proposal for both the Jammu Press and the Srinagar Press till date. We are still waiting for fresh advertisement and wish the previous government to quicken the pace of appointments and for justice to be done but all in vain.
These unemployed youth are suffering and even the department earlier attempted to redesignate the post of inker feeder by orderlies and helpers also and now want to benefit their own blue eyed by upgrading their post by reduction of Inker feeder post only which are sub-judicious through reorganization.
They further appealed to the Governor NN Vohra to kindly halt this process otherwise it would spoil their future.
