3 drug peddlers held with 455 gram heroin, Rs 20,000 cash

Jammu, July 1: In continuation to operation 'Sanjeevni', launched by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu Vivek Gupta, three peddlers have been arrested along with 4555 grams heroin in separate incidents at Gandhi Nagar and Miran Sahib.
Police spokesman said that today police party of Gandhi Nagar established naka near Digiana Pulli Jammu for checking/ frisking of vehicles.
"During checking/ frisking of vehicles one Vespa Scooter bearing Registration number JKO2L-9692 was also stopped for checking and on questioning the scooterist disclosed his name as Pardeep Singh of Kanaspura, Baramulla Kashmir presently staying at Digiana Ward No. 4 Jammu and on checking 450 gram of heroin was recovered from his possession", said spokesman adding that Rs 20,000 cash was also recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, a case under FIR No. 147/2018 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar Jammu and investigation started. The accused person/drug supplier was formally arrested and 450 Gms of consignment of heroin has been seized accordingly.
It is pertinent to mention here that the said accused was earlier also arrested by police station Beming, Srinagar in year 2013 in a fidayeen attack case at Bemina, Srinagar.
The arrest and recovery has been made by Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia SHO Gandhi Nagar assisted by SI Kali Charan in-charge police post Digiana under the supervision of SDPO City South Rafiq Manhas and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
Meanwhile, Miran Sahib Police claimed to have arrested two notorious drug peddlers and recovered 3 grams of heroin from their possession.
Police spokesman said that today police party of Miran Sahib police station established a naka near Indira Nagar Balole Bridge for checking and frisking of vehicles.
"During checking and frisking one Wagon R without registration number, Colour White coming from Jammu towards RS Pura stopped on naka Point, in which 02 persons were sitting", said spokesman adding that during questioning they disclosed their names as Neeraj of Nanak Nagar, Jammu and Lucky Choudhary of Greater Kailash, Jammu.
Spokesman further said that on their personnel search, 1.5/1.5 grams heroin (chitta) was recovered from their possession.
In this connection a case under FIR No. 97/2018 under section 8/21/22/NDPS Act has been registered at Miran Sahib police station, Jammu and investigation started.
The accused persons/drugs peddlers were formally arrested and consignment of heroin has been seized accordingly. The arrest and recovery has been made by Incharge Police Station Miran Sahib- lnspector Mohd. Showkat Choudhary assisted by ASI Yougal Kishore in-charge Border Police Post (BPP) Kullian under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura-Sourav Prashar, SP Headquarters-Romesh Kotwal and overall supervision of SSP Jammu-Vivek Gupta.
