One year imprisonment to accused under Forest Act

Kishtwar, Oct 24: The Judicial Magistrate First Class sentenced two accused namely Mohammad Ismail son of Mohammad Abdullah Malik resident of Jamasalan, Tehsil Mahore, District Reasi and Mohammad Yousaf son of Jaam Mohammad resident of Gundi Gaghra, Tehsil Gool, District Ramban to one year jail and fine of Rs. 2500 under 6/39 of the Jammu and Kashmir Forest Act, Svt. 1987.
As per the details available with ET, Ramban Police produced the chargesheet against the accused persons in case FIR No. 16/2014 of Police Station Gool for the commission of offences U/S 379 RPC & 6/39 Forest Act after police party intercepted an Ambassador Car with Forest written over it bearing Registration No. JK02Q-1795 along with one tipper bearing No. JK19-0557, which was proceeding from Daggan Top along with the logs loaded in it.
After going through case details and material evidence produce by the investigating officer before the court, the offences under section /39 Forest Act stands proved against the accuse persons beyond any shadow of reasonable doubt and accordingly the accused persons stands "Convicted" of the aforementioned sections of the law.
