TED organizes exhibition of heritage items

Jammu, Oct 24: Exhibition of heritage items manufactured by trainees of Govt. Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) of Jammu Division was organized by Technical Education Department in collaboration with Kala Kendra, Jammu.
Exhibition of Heritage manufactured items in the Trades of Basohli Shawl Weaving, Basohli Painting, Traditional Phulkari Arts was inaugurated by Sanjeev Verma, IAS, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu on 24.10.2018 at 11.00 AM in Kala Kendra, Jammu to promote the heritage courses. Sanjeev Verma, IAS, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu lauded the efforts of Technical Education Department in reviving the Heritage Arts of Jammu and Kashmir. Traditional items on display such as Phulkari Suits, Basohli Paintings and Basohli Shawls were appreciated by general public. G M Bhat, Joint Director Technical Education, Jammu in his welcome address informed that the Technical Education Department is playing pioneering role in popularizing Traditional Art of Jammu and Kashmir as well as enabling source of self employment to the youth.
