Foolish man cherished desires for years together: Madhu Param Hans
10/24/2018 11:22:11 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Oct 24: Showering the nectarian bliss of his spiritual discourses at Ranjri on the eve of Poornima, Madhu Param Hans Maharaj, the head of Sahib Bandgi panth, said that man makes plans for the future. He makes both long term as well as short term plans.
Man doesn't know what is going to happen in the very next moment. Still he has cherished desires for years together. The bodily machinery can stop functioning at anytime. The body can perish due to severe diseases like heart attack, nervous breakdown and others. Sometimes, small ailments also prove fatal. Still we remain absorbed in attaining the short lived pleasures. While buying some utensil from the bazar, we ask the shopkeeper to give us the one that may not easily break. We do the same while getting some cloth dyed or for any such like purpose. But it is foolish to think so because the world itself in which we are living, is perishable.
Four kinds of people live in the world. The nature and thinking of all is different. Firstly, there are those who don't believe in soul and God. Their sole aim of life is to eat, drink and enjoy. In the worldly language, such kind of people have been called as Pamar. Secondly, there are those who are God fearing. Neither they tease anyone nor commit any sin. But still they remain engrossed in the world. Whenever they get some chance, they attend satsangs and perform noble tasks as well. Such people are called as the worldly jivas. Anyhow, they are good for the society. Thirdly, there are those who want salvation. They think that the human body is meant for seeking salvation.
They do every work with prudence. Then there are great persons who are, indeed, uncommon. But the fact is that the merits of births together remain with them. Very small numbers of people have knowledge of the soul. Right from the birth, the parents start teaching the child about worldly matters. This is because they themselves are engrossed in the world. That is why man keeps engrossed in the worldly net.
A child was mentally weak. His father left him in the Ashram for performing service. After some days he said that he wanted to go. I don't prevent anyone from leaving the Ashram. I asked him the reason thereof. He said that he wanted to do something for his future. He thought that seeking some job would make his future bright. He never thought that there was no other way better than the one he was engaged in to shape his future. By performing the job of service he was paving the way for the liberation of his soul. No doubt, man has limited himself to the fulfilment of his bodily needs alone. Money has its own place but one should earn as much as is sufficient for one's family needs. Our real target of life would be marred if we remain too much entangled in amasssing material objects.
