PEECC resents betrayal by Commissioner Secretary PDD on framing of Reforms Committee
10/27/2018 8:38:25 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Oct 27: The employees of Power development department and others held a meeting and resented the Government Order No:229 of PDD of 2018 dated 25/10/2018 where in no representative from main body of the Power Employees and Engineers Coordination Committee, an amalgam of all the Engineers and Employees has been included and only office bearer members from only a particular association have been included.
The meeting led by the Coordination Committee leaders Er. Jagdish Rathore, Er. Jaipal Sharma, President DEA,Er. Sachin Tickoo, Convenor of the coordination committee, Er Sushma Parihar, Gen secty FOJE, Nazir Choudhary, President JKRCEA, Ajaz Kazmi, Gen Secty PPEU, Sanjeev bali President PPEU, Balbir Singh,President, Draftsman association, Jasbir Singh, President ITI, Gurmeet Singh, President Non Gazetted Electrical Employees Union, H.D Singh, Technical Employees federation, Kulbir Singh, Secretary EEU,Anil Slathia, President Lineman and worker Union, Tarun Gupta, and PDD Daily wager Union.
The PEECC in its meeting after day long protest on 24th September 2018 had been assured by the Commissioner Secretary PDD that PEECC being the representative body shall be consulted in the process of the unbundling/Reorganisation of the department. The signatories from all unions had suspended the protest programme on the assurance of the Commissioner Secretary that a committee shall be framed to examine the reforms process and the representatives from all Unions constituent of the PEECC shall be taken on board.
They said that the move of the Government seems to be far from reality and will end up purely as a cosmetic exercise by non-inclusion of all the stakeholders. This shall have a long bearing effect as the anger and mistrust against the administration is brewing among the employees after the Government Order No: 229 of PDD of 2018 dated 25/10/2018 which has conveniently ignored the mutually agreed minutes of the meeting held on 29th September 2018 in the PDC Complex Satwari among the Commissioner Secretary PDD and the PEECC which had primarly agreed to involve all section of employees right up to the bottom of the cadres across the Technical and Ministerial cadres.
Secondly the PEECC also discussed threadbare about the non-resolution of major issues projected with the Government from time to time. There has been no headway in the submission of proposal of Enhancement of Field Travel Allowance to the Finance Department even after the assurance by the Hon'ble Advisor and the Commissioner Secretary PDD, and Regularisation of daily wagers has not been initiated. The PEECC also calls for detachment of the two senior officer's one being the Chief Engineer and other being the Superintending Engineer who have been attached without any fault of theirs.
The PEECC strongly urges the Government to make the necessary amendments in the committee formed on examining reorganisation of the department to incorporate the members of all constituent unions of PEECC so that resentment among all cadres is addressed and an affective and meaningful exercise is conducted by the Government failing which the PEECC shall be construed to take up agitational path once again.
