Srinagar GMC got 2 DPCs in 6 months, Jammu college none for 3 yrs
Discrimination with Jammu continues

Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 27: Even under the Governor's rule, the discrimination with Jammu region continues as Srinagar college got two Departmental Promotional Committee (DPC) of the faculty members within one and half year reportedly but the DPC of the faculty members of the Government Medical College Jammu is still awaited for last three years.
Moreover, uncalled for delay in conducting DPC of GMC Jammu is brewing resentment among the faculty members and they have decided to meet Governor and expose the casual approach of the concerned authority, which is sleeping over the issue for last many years.
Here it needs to be mentioned that two Principal Secretaries of the Health and Medical Education Department, two Principals of the Government Medical College and also two Secretaries of Public Service Commission have changed but DPC of 70 faculty members has not been issued so far.
Credible sources revealed that recently Health and Medical Education Department Govt order no 610-HME of 2018 dated 26-10-2018, issued DPC of 101 faculty members of the Government Medical College Srinagar, clearly exposed that the discrimination with Jammu province has still existed even under Governor rules as some of the influential doctors are misguiding and misdirecting the higher-ups for their personal interest.
"Whereas the minutes of meeting of DPC meeting have been signed by all the members of DPC, Which Include Ex Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education, Principal GMC Jammu, Additional Secretary GAD, Secretary PSC but it is difficult to understand then why PSC is holding and delaying the DPC case of 70 faculty members of GMC Jammu," Official sources within GMC Jammu said and adding that the delay is also contradiction to PSC norms which strongly suggest that DPC should be convened twice yearly. It is further giving promotion to adochism.
Official sources further said that the situation might bring GMC Jammu under threat of de-recognition from the National Medical Commission, as all these promoted faculty members have been shown on higher post for the purpose of headcount and an affidavit has been given twice with the assurance that DPC orders shall be issued within a month, but after three years the DPC of these doctors is pending due to flip-flop policy of PSC.
Besides, sources added that the fight between two gastroenterologists (both are actually born in the department of General Medicine) of GMC Jammu have taken a very ugly shape as this fight is considered to be responsible for the unnecessary delay in issuing of DPC promotion order of more than 70 faculties of GMC Jammu. However, one amongst the two on basis of the basis of his political might could manage to get lateral entry to super-speciality hospital in a non-existent department of Gastroenterology against the norms of PSC J&K, J&K Medical Education (Gazetted) Service Recruitment Rules, 1979 and rules of Medical Council of India.
