Raman Bhalla fast losing ground in Gandhi Nagar
10/27/2018 10:32:58 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 27: Claiming himself as only mass base leader of Congress in Jammu region, former Minister Raman Bhalla is fast losing his ground in Gandhi Nagar assembly constituency which was once his stronghold.
Instead of serving interests of the people who had elected him as MLA in two terms-in 2002 and 2008, Raman Bhalla is more particular about following dictates of leaders from Kashmir by ignoring wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu region.
According to a report published in media, Congress's vote bank has down rapidly in Gandhi Nagar assembly constituency in the recently held ULB elections. Congress has improved its vote share in Jammu West assembly segment and his vote share down slightly in Jammu East but party has received big loss in Gandhi Nagar where Bhalla had claimed to win minimum 20 out of total 26 wards of the Jammu Municipal Corporation. (JMC).
Main reason of Bhalla's losing his ground in Gandhi Nagar is his less vision. Instead of working as a leader, Raman Bhalla also performed as corporator because he only emphasized on roads and streets but he never asserted himself as leader of Jammu region.
Credible sources said that there was strong anger against BJP in Gandhi Nagar assembly segment but Raman Bhalla failed to cash this anger because people don't trust him. There is a feeling among people that Bhalla would only serve interest of his Valley based political bosses.
According to media report in the 2014 Assembly elections, despite a strong Modi wave the Congress had secured 39,902 votes in the Gandhi Nagar Assembly segment. However, this time despite an anti-incumbency wave against the saffron party, the Congress votes came down to 22,784.
