JAMMU, Oct 27: President of the National Mazdoor Conference(NMC) Subash Shastri appealed to State Governor to actively monitor day to day the progress regarding the regularization of thousands of causal Laborers working in the various departments of the State government when the Darbar move open on November 5, in winter capital of Jammu city, so that long pending issue of daily rated workers could be solved once for all.
"Hoping that Governor's Satya Pal Malik has exhibited as keen human understanding and the way he has resolved several important issues facing the people, salaried class of the state, the issue of these casual laborers as regard their regularization under SRO 520 and others employees demands will also get resolved," Shastri said this while addressing a well attended NMC workers meet at Gandhi Nagar in Jammu city. He pointed that the complete records are supposed to be with the office establishment and not with individual casual Laborers who incidentally have not been paid their wages years together adding that procrastination regarding the process of their regularization is unduly taking a lot of time ,often on flimsy grounds. He suggested that the governor administration should earmark separate wage heads for regularly disbursement of monthly wages of these casual laborers till their regularization. Pleading the cause of casual laborers, he also appealed Governor's administration to ensure timely disbursement of long pending wages of casual labourers for months together so that this category is in a position to celebrate upcoming festivals of Dhan Teras, Diwali and Bhaiyya Duj with enthusiasm and fervor. He said that the casual laborers are preoccupied with uncertainties despite the most valuable public services and there is no way for them to celebrate these festivals without their long pending wages being paid to them.
Among others who were present in the meeting included Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S.Jamwal, Surinder Kumar, Shiv Ram Sharma, Romesh Sharma, Jai Pal Sharma, Ram Singh, Darshan Bawa, Surinder Kumar, Sardhri Lal, Sudesh Bhagat and others.
