Div Com directs for development of cattle ponds

JAMMU, Oct 27: Acting upon the directions of High Court, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today chaired a meeting regarding a PIL 25/2017, IA No's 02/2017 and 01/2017 titled Save Animals Value Environment (SAVE).
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, Commissioner JMC, Arvind Kotwal, Revenue Attorney, Atul Gupta, DFO Jammu, Sat Paul, Municipal Veterinary Officer, JMC, Dr Zafar Iqbal and other senior functionaries of the concerned departments.
The meeting was informed that a land measuring 42 kanals has been sanctioned for the development of Cattle Pond at Village Seri Khurd, Tehsil Nagrota.
The Div Com asked the JMC to initiate necessary steps for the development of the cattle pond at the earliest and further directed for the fencing of the said land.
Commissioner, JMC informed the meeting that a plan for development of cattle ponds has been prepared and the work would be started within days.
The Div Com further instructed the DC Jammu to identify state land for fodder development.
