JPPF celebrates accession day
10/27/2018 9:55:10 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Oct 27: Jammu Province Peoples Forum (JPPF), an amalgam of 50 social, commercial and other organizations and a common platform to discuss various issues pertaining to Jammu province, celebrated accession day of Jammu and Kashmir with dominion of India by organizing a grand function near Maharaja Hari Singh's statue along Tawi Bridge, Jammu.
Pavitar Singh (Retd Judge) while talking to media persons said that though there was no need of celebration of accession because approximately 562 princely run states were acceded with the dominion of India in 1947 but the Kashmiri politicians' controversial and misleading statements forced us to bring the factual status to the society otherwise whatever said by the separatist mindset and the Kashmiri politicians shall be taken as the final verdict and the day will come when the generations will accept it the way Pakistan centric people are projecting this issue. We have also felt that people who are projecting accession of J&K with the dominion of India, a disputed issue needs to introspect themselves and study their own past. We are of the opinion if these people go back and study their family history for last 3 -4 generations most of them will come to know about the truth. Further he said that every citizen must be aware of the fact that Maharaja Hari Singh who was considered to be the most efficient, visionary and man of principles who run and managed this State after the year 1925 did lot many exemplary developmental works for the people of this state and wanted to keep this state as an independent country but Pakistan who in spite of signing standstill agreement attacked the state of Jammu and Kashmir by sending his forces along with the tribal invaders to capture Kashmir and Rajouri - Poonch area.
Singh said Maharaja Hari Singh executed the instrument of accession on October 26, 1947 and was accepted by the then Governor General of India Lord Mountbatten on October 27, 1947 without any pre-condition. The instrument of accession is available and has no condition of any kind but there are some people who for the sake of political mileage do not hesitate to prove the history wrong by issuing contradictory statement which has no locus of standi and is also considered misleading.
