Prominent citizens of Reasi raise issue of assault on attendant by doctor

Reasi, Oct 27: Prominent citizens of Reasi today convened a meeting wherein the serious issue pertaining to some mischievous employees of Health Department involved in assault against local patient and subsequent illegal strike to evade legal action and malign the image of District Administration.
Addressing media persons at Reasi, Pawan Dev Singh said that on 20th of October of 2018, a local patient namely Kuldeep Kumar son of Om Parkash arrived at District Hospital in connection with treatment of his grandson. Dr. Ashwani Bhagat and Dr. Davinder Khajuria assaulted the local namely Kuldeep Kumar in the premises of District Hospital Reasi for which a formal complaint was lodged in Police Station Reasi. On this complaint, Police Station Reasi lodged a case under FIR No. 185/18 under sections 341, 323, 427 and 506 of RPC. However, as the news of assault upon above mentioned local person by the medico spread in the district headquarter; some serious facts came to the knowledge of the locals. Dr. Ashwani Bhagat was also involved earlier in altercation with Deputy Commissioner Reasi at the counting hall venue where the counting for Urban Local Bodies election was going on. Dr. Ashwani Bhagat misbehaved with the Deputy Commissioner Reasi at the counting venue and reportedly was seen speaking in unruly and unofficial tone with the election related officials. The prominent citizens also expressed concerns regarding serious ramifications of the ongoing strike of some medical doctors supporting the illegal and unjust cause of these erring doctors which has brought disrespect to the noble profession in the town of Reasi. They also appreciated the role of some genuine doctors who despite the call for strike given by some members of medical fraternity are serving the poor public of Reasi and applauded their services. The citizens also requested Governor to immediately suspend these erring doctors and initiate an enquiry at the level of Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education. The prominent Citizens of Reasi also pleaded and requested Association of doctors to not extend support to illegal act of these medicos who have brought disrepute to the noble profession and are pursuing their personal agendas and are trying to escape crutches of law.
