RSAWWA organizes to harness talent of Women, Spouses of Soldiers

JAMMU, Oct 27: In order to harness the talent of women and empower them, the Rising Star Army Wives Welfare Association organised a talent hunt over three phases. The 'Grand Finale' of the "Voice of Rising Star" was held here at Yol Cantt today, in which 14 talented ladies were shortlisted. Amongst them, the first three Mithu Chattopadhyay wife of Sub JK Chattopadhyay, Pooja Pandey wife of NK DC Pandey, and Neetu Singh wife of L/Nk Amit Kumar, were felicitated by Y Geetha Mohan, the Zonal President of Rising Star AWWA. This spectacular event was graced by Lt Gen YVK Mohan, GOC, Rising Star Corps.
The Corps Commander highlighted the vital role played by a Soldier's Wife to support him, becoming his strength while he defends the nation against external aggressions and internal disorders, under extremely challenging conditions, risking his life. The Grand Finale left a large audience of 1500 plus serving soldiers and their families, mesmerised by melodious voices of the women participants' interspersed by cultural programmes.
