| SC, ST Corp disburses Rs 1.30 crore among 62 beneficiaries | | |

Srinagar, Oct 27 : The Jammu & Kashmir Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Backward Classes (BC) Development Corporation Limited disbursed loans to the tune of Rs 1.30 Crore among 62 beneficiaries here on Saturday. According to the communication of the Corporation, the loan amount has been sanctioned and disbursed to 62 unemployed persons of target groups including 16 beneficiaries of scheduled tribes, five beneficiaries of Backward Classes, 25 beneficiaries of Safai Karamcharis and 11 beneficiaries of Notified National Minorities and two beneficiaries under Handicapped categories for establishing their own income generating units. "From April 2018, the Corporation has disbursed loan to the tune of Rs 994 lakh among 504 beneficiaries, the statement said. For recovery of loan, the Corporation has made tremendous improvement during last two months from the willful chronic defaulters and has recovered Rs 519.40 lakh and thereby issued 215 NDCs to the defaulters who have liquidated their outstanding dues.
The Corporation has already offered 'One Time Settlement' schemes to its defaulters to settle their dues amicably which is operational up to ending December 2018. The Managing Director asked the defaulters to avail the benefit of the 'One Time Settlement' scheme and clear their outstanding dues to avoid any legal action, the statement reveals.
