Khelo India State Kabaddi Championship begins

GANDERBAL, Oct 27: Jammu & Kashmir Amateur Kabaddi Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council kicked off the State Kabaddi Championship under Khelo India Scheme at Govt. College of Physical Education Gadoora.
The event was inaugurated by Shiekh Ashfaq Jabber, honorable MLA Gandarbal and Madam Nuzhat Ara Central Sports Officer Kashmir, J&K Sports Council and Guest of Honor was Dr. Fayaz Ahmed Nika, Registrar, Central University of Kashmir.
On the opening ceremony Chief Guest lauded the efforts made by organizer Jammu & Kashmir Amateur Kabaddi Association for the glorious event and assured full support and cooperation in organizing the said championship.
Henceforth, prominent present among others were Dr. Hartej Singh, Principal, Govt. College of Physical Education Gadoora. Ten districts are participating in the event namely District Anantnag, District Pulwama, District Jammu, District Badgam, District Gandarbal, District Baramulla, District Srinagar, District Kathua, District Udhamur and District Rajouri.
More than 100 players are participating in the event. The tournament is organized under the supervision of Anil Gupta, President, J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association, Kuldeep Gupta, CEO, J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association, Surinder Mohan, J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association and Sheikh Mohd. Shafi, Secretary District Kabaddi Association, Gandarbal. Tournament is being conducted in under 17 age category. The winners will be awarded medals/certificate and Rs.3000, Rs.2000, and Rs.1000 respectively for 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions. Today's Result- District Gndarbal beat District Badgam by 39 points, District Srinagr beat District Udhamour by 12 points, District Rajouri beat District Badgam by 28 points, District Gandarbal vs District Udhampur tied, District Srinagar beat District Rajouri by 21 points.
