Final-leg of block level competitions in sports concluded at Samba

SAMBA, Oct 27: Under the aegis of Khelo-India, exhilarating matches of volleyball, kabbadi, kho-kho, badminton, athletics and football for block Samba, Nud and Sumb were played in their final-leg today here at Sports Stadium, Samba.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC Samba, Pankaj Magotra , who was also the Chief Guest , said that the Khelo India programme has been introduced to revive the sports culture in India at the grass-root level by building a strong framework for all sports played in our country and establish India as a great sporting nation.
In Volleyball, U-17 age category (Girls), Nari Shakti Volleyball club defeated Nav Vidhya Hr Sec School. In Kabbadi, U-17 years (Girls), Nav Vidhaya Hr Sec School beat MI Sumb.
In Kho-Kho, U-17 category (Girls), Nav Vidhaya School defeated GHSS Nud, whereas in U- 20 category, KV Samba emerges as winners.
In Badminton U-17, Manvi Sharma, U-20 girls, Arushi defeated Anamika in finals, in above 20 age category, Meenu Chanyal won over Tabassum Chowdhary. In Football, U-17 (Girls) , GGH School Behri defeated GG Middle School.
In Hockey, above 20 category (boys), final match was won by Mandi Talore Hockey Club by 7-6 against Kelhi Mandi Hockey Club.
In Athletics, Rajjat, Amit, Aman, Rakshit, Shabbir, Dharam Paul, Anil, Arjun, Amit, Sahil, Anant, Amit, Amit Sharma, Amit Sambyal, Abhi Sharma, Shoba Rani, Jyoti Devi, Meenakshi Devi, Jyoti Devi, Savita Devi, Seema Devi, Priya Sharma, Tajinder Kour, Shoba Rani won their individual competitions in their respective age categories in long jump shot-put, discuss-throw and racing competitions.
