| Councillor Ward No 42, ex-mayor Manmohan Singh felicitated | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 3: An open darbar was held in Sector- 1 of ward Number 42, wherein newly elected Councillor Vijay Choudhary and Choudhary Manmohan Singh, former Mayor Jammu were invited, and felicitated on their success by the residents. This darbar was held to understand the problems of residents regarding cleanliness and sanitation of the ward. The residents present on the occasion thanked Manmohan Singh for his previous term as Corporator of ward 42. They appreciated him for all his efforts he put during his term and how the level of sanitation was never the same after that. Vijay Choudhary thanked the people for remembering the work of Manmohan Choudhary and supporting her during the elections. She said that ward 42 is like her family and all the sectors are same to her. She hopes to keep the standard previous Councillor maintained, but since there has been no corporation meeting yet and the funds have not been released, the development process has been stalled for now. People complained that there has been no proper system of maintenance of roads. The drains and lanes are broken, they overflow during rains, they remain blocked and there's no proper cleaning schedule. Choudhary said that the waste pickup trucks comes only thrice a week, which should come atleast on alternate days and the manpower provided is also very limited.
She instructed the Sanitary Inspector and supervisor present that the cleaning staff will not abstain from their duties and clean the lanes and drains daily, there will be no unexplained leaves or holidays by them. |
