Blue eyed docs enjoy overstay in Governor rule, H&ME Deptt silent

JAMMU, Dec 3: In gross violation of rules and regulations of the Health department, a few doctors, who have been working in Government Medical College and Associated Hospitals are enjoying overstay for last more than 6 years.
Once again, Health and Medical Education department issued order vide no HD/Gaz/Gen/161/ 2018 dated 14-11-2018 and asked Principal of Government Medical College Jammu and Srinagar to furnish information with regard to Medical Officers of the Health Department who are presently working in the Government Medical Colleges and Associated Hospitals Srinagar/ Jammu, other than PG, Registrars.
According to sources, the GMC Jammu has completed the details of 22 Medical Officers, who have been working in the above said Colleges at different posts for last more than 6 years but no action has been taken by the concerned authority despite issuing fresh order. "Was this step only to befool the commoners once again or politicians have come to save their close ones, "sources pointed.
As per officials of the Health Department, a Medical Officer, belongs to State Health department cannot stay more than 4 years, and after completing 4 years deputation, he/ she have to report parental department but they never called back due to pressure of Politicians and Bureaucrats.
The documents in possession of Early Times reveal that out of 22 Medical Officers, 13 doctors, are overstayed in the GMC Jammu and its associated hospital, who have completed their deputation tenure but still enjoying the blessing of the politicians, concerned authorities and bureaucrats and floating the norms and regulations of the department.
"In the some cases especially for those, who have links in power corridors, have been overstaying in various posts in the hospitals for last many years," sources alleged, adding the concerned management as well as higher officials in the H&ME department is sleeping on the violation.
