Early Times Report

Rajouri, Dec 3: Various polling parties accompanied by security personnel have complained of poor facilities at polling booths in Khawas tehsil in Darhal constituencies in Rajouri district for which polling will be held on Tuesday.
The polling stations at Keri, Lambi Bari, Kheri and other places situated in far off areas are situated in government primary schools, but these school buildings have no roofs ,no doors and windows without panes.
"These schools are situated at the top of the hills away from habitations and without roofs it will make very difficult to spend nights under open sky that too amid chilly weather. No arrangement for food was made at Keri primary school" said a polling official.
He added that they have to spend night and day without food and will survive on biscuits and water they are carrying with them.
The condition of the government schools speaks about the interest taken by former Education Minister, Ch Zulfikar Ali Choudhry who represented this constituency.
According to polling team members at Keri, they have contacted the local people for food and shelter as it would be very difficult to spend nights under open sky in two roof less dilapidated rooms of the school.
"In the name of development the local leaders, claiming to be the sympathisers of the poor and down trodden people of the area, have deceived the poor people in the name of development and misused the funds" said S.Ahmed.
Meanwhile, Shakeel Singh prominent political leader and resident of Khawas town has expressed apprehensions of violence at Keri and Rajot polling booths and have appealed to authorities to strengthening the security.
