| DPS Nagbani invites disable persons on Disability Day | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 3: To commemorate International Day of persons with Disabilities, DPS Nagbani today invited disabled persons in the school and the students of the school spent some time with them.
A person with a disability is anyone with a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits at least one major life activity.
Disability Day, or the International Day of people with disability, is a day that has been promoted by the United Nations since 1992. The aim of the Disability Day is to encourage a better understanding of people affected by a disability, together with helping to make people more aware of the rights, dignity and welfare of disabled people, as well as raise awareness about the benefits of integrating disabled persons into every aspect of life, form economic, to political, to social and cultural. The vital purpose of this day's celebration was to improve the understanding of the students towards the people with disability issues as well as get together to support them to improve their self-esteem, well being and rights in the society. The students of DPS Nagbani welcomed the special invitees for the day. They met with the persons with disabilities and listened their experiences of life. They spent some time with them by sharing their views and learning from them how they cope up with their disability. |
