| 2 killed, 43 injured as over-crowded bus falls into deep gorge | | |  Early Times Report
Udhampur, Jan 24: At least 2 passengers were killed and 43 others were injured, after a 38-seater overloaded Bus plunged into a deep gorge in Kuh Nallah area of District udhampur here today .
Reports Said that The 38 -Seater minibus Bearing Registration number JK 02 AQ- 5353 was on its way from Udhampur to Ramnagar when the accident occurred. Bus reached Kuh Nallah on Udhampur Ramnagar Road Driver lost control over Bus and the Bus plugged into deep gorge. Official Sources Said driver apparently lost control over the steering or may be some technical fault developed in the Bus and the overloaded Bus veered off the road and plunged into a deep gorge.
Local people were the first responders to the accident and then police were rushed to the spot to launch rescue operations on a war footing and evacuated the injured Persons from the Ill fated Bus and Shifted to the Hospital for Treatment .
As per the sources Out of 43 injured Persons 29 undergo Treatment at District Hospital Udhampur, 13 undergo Treatment at Community Health Centre (CHC) Ramnagar , Critically injured Mother and Her son admitted to Millitery Hospital Udhampur and one Reffered to GMC&H Jammu for Treatment .
Deputy commissioner Udhampur Ravinder Kumar IAS confirmed the death of 2 People . he also added that from Red Cross we will Provide 20,000 to the Seriously injured Persons and 10,000 Each to the Injured Persons as a Assistance he added . |
