  Udhampur, Mar 9: Power Development Department (PDD)  is endangering  human lives  in Bali area of District Udhampur by putting power supply lines to temporary blocks and trees instead of poles. The people of  Gullaban (ward no 01& 02 ) in Lower Meer area  Panchari in district Udhampur have taken strong note of what they called negligence of the Power Development Department. "The department has put   the lives of residents into jeopardy," they said. Laxman Dass Sarpanch Lower Meer while talking to Early Times  said that  since  decades  we are facing  life threat  due to the  low hanging electric wires on wooden logs as well as tress . He said nothing has changed since 1985. He added that the matter was raised many times with the concerned authorities without results. Section 336 of Indian Penal Court prescribes punishment for endangering life or personal safety of others. "Whoever does any act so rashly or negligently as to endanger human life or the personal safety of others, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three months, or with fine which may extend to two hundred and fifty rupees, or with both but who so ever care about the law."
