Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 9: Scores of contractual lecturers of Government Degree College, Kishtwar have decided to go on pen down strike over failure of the authorities to release their salary/honorarium for the past nine months.
Reports said the contractual lecturers had given a written representation to Principal Degree College Kishtwar intimating about the problems faced by them due to non release of their salary. They also informed him about their decision to go on pen down strike to enforce their demand.
They said that they time and again requested the college authorities to release their salaries, but no concrete step was taken by the college management forcing them to boycott the classes.
Speaking to "Early Times" some college students said that they support the genuine demand of all the contractual lecturers. They urged the government to take immediate measures for releasing their pending salary.
"Delay in release of their pending salary will adversely affect our education," they made clear.
A staffer while criticizing the authorities for withholding their salary said there was absolutely no reason for such a harsh step.
Expressing their support to the contractual lecturers, the entire staff of the college sought immediate release of the pending salary/honorarium.
