Punjabi Sahitak Sabha organizes literary meet

R S Pura, Apr 8: Punjabi Sahitak Sabha, organized its first monthly literary meet at Simbal Morh, Jammu under the charge of newly elected President Harjit Singh Uppal.
Amar Singh Kuka, a well known Punjabi Ghazal writer presided over the meet. A galaxy of poets and writers participated in the meet. S. Harjit Singh Uppal, President of the Sabha welcomed all the poets and writers who participated in the meet. A two minutes silence was observed to pay tributes to the departed soul of Vishwanath Dil, a renowned poet from R S Pura. The members payed for the peace of the departed soul.
A Kavi Darbar was organized during the meet. Kavi Darbar started with recitation of a poem by Gazalgeet Kour. The other poets who recited their poetry included Piara Singh Dhanjal, S J P Azad, Balwinder Singh Deep, Parveen Singh Rahi, Suraj P Ratan, Bachan Bharti, Swami Antar Nirav, Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik, Harjit Singh Uppal and Amar Singh Kuka recited their poems and Ghazals. Various themes on different issues were reflected in the poems presented on this occasion.
Rajveer Singh, a research scholar, read out his paper on 'Gurbani Vich Kirat Da Sankalp'. S. Devinder Simgh Vishavnagrik, former President of Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Jammu gave valuable suggestions. Prof. G S Ralli also presented his views on the paper. Later on an interaction on the paper was initiated and all members present in the meeting participated in the interaction and threw light on the contents of the paper.
In his presidential address, S. Amar Singh Kuka appreciated the presentation of the literary creations and healthy interaction on the programme. He also presented his views on the overall conduct of the meet. Former President of Punjabi Sahitak Sabha, R S Pura & a renowned poet Swami Antar Nirav conducted the proceedings of the programme and also extended the vote of thanks.
