The protest was staged outside the Deputy Commissioner's office. Govt High Secondary School Manjmi was established in 1958 and upgraded as Lower High School 2003. After that school was upgraded to High Secondary level and was approved for upgradation by the previous government under vide govt order no 737 edu of 14 on 22-10-2014 but the classes couldn't be made functional since 2014.
While talking to Early Times, parents alleged that, in papers the school is running as high secondary level but unfortunately even after the upgradation, the , school is functional up to Lower high school.
After that students have to go Doda, Bhaderwah or Gai for higher education and they have to travel long distance.
They said despite fervent request to the Governor's administration of J&K, MLA Doda, district administration, the government has been failed to start 10+2 classes from last five years on their genuine demand.
Students alleged that, they face problems in migration due to which most the students have to leave their studies after high school. "There is shortage of staff in the school which lacks a proper building," they said.
