KATHUA, Apr 8: Senior Congress leader and party's Lok Sabha candidate from Udhampur-Doda-Kathua Constituency Vikramaditya Singh on Monday launched a scathing attack on BJP candidate Dr Jitendra Singh calling him 'accidental MP' with zero intent to serve the people. Addressing a series of public meetings at different villages in Kathua, the Dogra scion said that Dr Jitendra Singh had become the MP for "the first and the last time" in 2014 as the people at that time got carried away by the 'Jumla-bazi' of the BJP leaders. He said, everyone has realized now as what a blunder it was to elect an MP who neither had any political credentials nor any inclination to serve the people. "Probably he knew very well that his parliamentary tenure had come with a brief expiry date and that is why he did not find it obligatory to work for the constituency", Vikramaditya Singh said adding that it was a big mistake to expect anything positive from such a person, who had neither any intent nor any interest to serve people. "People of the constituency have now realized their mistake for electing an MP with no track record of public service anywhere as he was used to spend most of his time in his clinic with 'zero connect' with the people. This was reflected during his tenure as MP as he always avoided meeting people as if he was highly allergic to them and was keen to return to his clinic to resume his medical practice again", he added. The Congress candidate also referred to the party manifesto, which, he said, was aimed at ameliorating the plight of every Indian and not just a few big industrial houses as was the case during the BJP regime. "The BJP could not look beyond a few families while rest of the country was left to its own fate", he said, while promising that the Congress government will ensure participation and development of all the sections of the society especially those dwelling in remote hamlets.
