Anything for votes: Farooq says, Azadi is coming
Fooling people!

Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 18: National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah has stirred the hornet's nest ahead of Lok Sabha polls by talking about Azadi.
"Do they (New Delhi) think that they will abrogate Article 370 and we will be quiet? They are wrong. We will fight against it. I think it's God's will that they are trying to abrogate it. Let them do it and it will pave way for our Azadi," Farooq said while addressing an election rally in Srinagar's old city.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said that "It's unfortunate that Kashmir centric politicians have turned into separatists ahead of Lok Sabha polls and are raising contentious issues."
It's in place to mention here that Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik a few days before had asked the mainstream politicians in Kashmir not to preach separatism and talk about politics.
"Such assertions provide a handle to Pakistan to interfere into the internal matters of our country. Recently Pakistan Foreign Office spokesman said that Pakistan would not accept abrogation of Article 370," the analyst said.
He said that Kashmiri politicians are doing a big disservice to the nation by selling illusions like "Azadi" to people. "They (politicians) should stop selling dreams to people. This will not help them to get more votes. Such assertions and statements dent their credibility as people know it very well that these are just political gimmicks," the analyst added.
He said that "National Conference leaders are desperate to win elections and they can go to any extent to lure the voters. Today Dr Farooq has talked about Azadi tomorrow he would talk about Pakistan."
A Kashmir watcher said, "Irresponsible behavior of mainstream politicians has pushed Kashmir to edge. They believe that they can win elections only by raising anti-national slogans. One fails to understand why Kashmiri leaders talk about Pakistan and Azadi when they are out of power. If they keep on toeing the line they have chosen it would mean that everyone in Kashmir wants to preach sedition and separatism. And they have no agenda."
He said that Kashmir centric politicians are leaving no opportunity to demonize New Delhi.
"Someone needs to tell these politicians that they are into politics because they enjoy Centre's patronage. They have been given all privileges, perks and security to strengthen national interests and not the separatism," he added.
The Kashmir watcher said that if these politicians don't mend their ways the day is not far when they would be dealt the way separatists are being dealt.
