Barnoti, Apr 8: Voters" Awareness Camp was conducted by District administration, Kathua at Kartar Public School, Barnoti under SVEEP to promote greater participation for a stronger democracy. As per press statement, it states as Kathua will be going for the Lok Sabha polls on 18th April this month. Om Dutt Attri, Block Development Officer, Barnoti presided the function and briefed the audience which included the students of the senior wing. Principal Harpreet Kaur and Chairman Nirmaljit Singh of KPS and local sarpanches were present on this occasion long with block officials. The BDO said that we can promote a stronger democracy by participating in free and fair elections in large numbers. He also explained the working of EVM and VVPAT process. Speaking on this occasion, Er. Nirmaljit Singh, Chairman, KPS said that all eligible voters should exercise their franchise in elections to make an informed choice to choose our law makers and representatives.
He reminded that India is the largest and most vibrant democracy. It is the duty of young persons and students to spread this awareness. |
