Sadhotra demands availability of essential commodities

Jammu, Apr 6: Former Minister Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, in a press statement, issued here today said it is highly appreciable that people of Jammu and Kashmir like whole of the nation are giving joint fight to combat Covid-19 by lock down of 21 days to break the chain of the Corona virus. This pandemic has created a situation of health emergency.
He emphasized the need of making all essential commodities available and ensure that prices are kept under strict control and check. The poor needy Kisans, youth and labourers should be given fiscal package so that common people have both times meals. Government has announced 3 months free ration but it has not reached to the people. Government should be practical, lip service will not fetch desired results. He also stressed the need to ease common man’s pain, burdens and financial anxieties. In absence of assured Essential Commodities, Price check and Fiscal Package, we cannot win war against Covid-19.
It is must to win war against Corona virus, he asserted. Sadhotra appreciated the role of front line Health workers, Doctors, Para Medicals, Civil Administration and Police. He demanded that Government should ensure Personal Protecting Equipments (PPE) for all front line workers. He also demanded that all the employees of the Departments which have been declared essential, be given Life Insurance cover so that in case of any eventuality, they could get benefit of insurance.
