Police tightened noose around red zones

Udhampur, Apr 12: The Udhampur Police has been making all out efforts to maintain lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic in the district by adopting strict measures on the violators. Strict vigil is being kept by the police in various parts of the district after many cases of Corona positive were reported.
Several nakas have been laid down by the police in ruler as well as urban areas to restrict the movement of people and only people with medical emergency are being allowed to move towards hospitals as well as private medical shops which specified by district administration.
“Routes towards Tikri, Megani, Chopra Shop, Garhi, Ramnager, Narsoo etc areas has been totally cordoned off after being declared Red Zone due to number of corona positive cases were reported,” said the police official further adding that highway has also been closed.
People are taking benefit of helpline number given by police in case of need of medicines and other essentials items “Police have been providing medicines as well as other essentials items at our door steps and only MRP is being charged from us,” said Rahul Jandial, incharge warden of civil defence members.
“We thanked to police personnel especially SSP Udhampur Rajiv Pandey and SHO Vijay Singh Chowdery for their extraordinary efforts by providing help to the people during this distressed time”, he said.
