EARLY TIMES REPORT

SRINAGAR, Apr 12: The authorities here in Kashmir said that Coronavirus patients are recovering fast and are responding to the treatment.
They also said that repeat test of good number of patients have already came negative.
“We have successfully treated a good number of positive coronavirus patients. There were sick patients but they responded the treatment, said one of the officials here in chest disease hospital.
He said that condition of some Covid-19 positive patient deteriorated recently but they recovered sooner than expected.
Sources also said that all the positive patients in SKIMS are responding to treatment.
Sources said that at the Chest Disease hospital Srinagar, so far 13 patients have been cured after they were tested positive for the deadly virus.
“We have cured 13 people who were positive for coronavirus. There tests were done thrice and results were negative,” the officials said.
The authorities also said that none of the patients having Coronavirus infection in Kashmir have been put on ventilator or admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
“Fortunately we have no coronavirus patient on ventilator or in the ICU. All patients are stable,” they said.
Ventilators are required for Covid-19 patients who develop acute respiratory distress syndrome when the lungs are filled with fluids that make it difficult to breathe.
“A ventilator is used when lungs are filled with fluid. Such patients find it very difficult to be oxygenated in a normal way. The only way to manage is to put the patient on ventilator assistance,” said the doctor.
