9130 Quintal Rice, Atta distributed among ration card holders in Kishtwar, Drabshalla

Jammu, Apr 12: As a part of massive exercise to distribute the ration among ration card holders falling under Kishtwar & Drabshalla stores, the department of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department so far distributed 9130 Quintal of Rice and Atta for the month of April & May 2020 among the rationee.
As per the details available with Early Times, the ration is being distributed among the ration card holders for two months as per the directions issued by the government of India following the imposition of 21 days lockdown with an aim that no one will remain without food during lockdown and continuous threat from COVID 19 pandemic.
Speaking to Early Times, Storekeeper Kishtwar main store Shabir Ahmed Sheikh inform that 4324 Quintal of Rice and 1416 Quintal of Atta has been released by the government to ration card holders through 30 government run sale depots added that beside distribution of ration at each sale depot, the department of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs under the leadership of Assistant Director FSC&CA Ghulam Rasool Lone, free kits on the direction of DC Kishtwar was also distributed at Kishtwar as well as in Chatroo.
Shabir Ahmed Sheikh said that all the people who fall under the jurisdiction of Kishtwar District are being taken care by the department.
Speaking to Early Times, Storekeeper Drabshalla Haroon Ayoob information that from Drabshalla and Thatri stores, 1800 quintal of ration has been released for the areas that include Drabshalla, Bhunzwah, Kuntwara & Saroor areas under TSO Drabshalla added that 1590 Quintal ration has been released for Chirala and Phigsu areas falling under TSO Thatri. He said that due to poor road condition of Thatri-Bhunzwah road, the department is facing lot of difficulties in transportation of the ration in the area. He said that on the direction of AD FCS&CA Doda/Kishtwar, transshipment of the ration is being done to ensure that ration could be delivered to one and all.
Speaking to Early Times, AD FCS&CA Ghulam Rasool Lone said that the department is working on war footing bases to ensure that each and every person get the ration. He said that more than 80% ration card holders had so far received the ration for the month of April and May 2020. He said that rest of the ration card holders will receive the ration in next few days. He said that in remote Marwah and Warwan areas, the ration has already been delivered to the people before the onset of the winter. He said that the department will start lifting of free ration to be distributed among ration card holders from 18th of this month. He said that in Doda and Kishtwar Districts, the distribution of ration is almost completed. He urged the people to maintain social distancing as well as follow the guidelines issued by the government with regard to COVID 19.
