Saffron party leadership not on same page over amended domicile law
One leader openly criticizes amended law, term decision of MHA hasty

EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Apr 18: Amid huge public outcry over the first draft of the “Domicile Law”, the amendment made by Ministry of Home Affairs has not gone well within the ranks and files of saffron party leadership in Jammu.
On such leader of Saffron party openly criticized the amendment made by Ministry of Home Affairs and termed the decision of amendment a hasty step and a surrender before “Status Quoist” lobby.
In a long article published recently, the leader went on to shower praises on the first draft of the “Domicile Law” and sees a conspiracy behind inserting of a new paragraph 3A, defining domicile. According to the leader the clause was deliberately done to derail the entire process of integration of Jammu and Kashmir with Union of India, which was initiated by Praja Parishad and Jan Sangh.
Undermining the wisdom of youth, locals of Jammu as well as all the politicians from various political parties including Jammu based parties, the saffron party leader has claimed that these parties had relied on rumours and vilification campaign.
Though each rank and file of saffron party has repeatedly been alleging no development in Jammu and Kashmir for the last seventy years but the Saffron party leader has debunked his own party stand by taking the help of National Human Development Index 2018, according to which JK is placed at 17th much above the states such as Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar, Karnataka, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Orissa.
The saffron party leader has appeared to be justifying the initial stand on first draft of domicile law, claiming that JK youth was competent enough to compete across India but he forgot that in Gujarat, Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh it was his own party, which remained in power for over three terms but failed to improve its graph in Human Development Index.
The Saffron party leader went on to present a misleading figure about Jammu and Kashmir demography, claiming that 98 percent population is from one religion, which was totally misleading as the dominant religious population in JK is not more than 70 percent.
However, the opinion of a spokesperson level party member could not be taken as his personal opinion but there were many others who have shared similar thoughts but many other leaders have sensed the mood of public as well as youth, who informed the Union leadership and helped to douse the anger among youth.
From the long article it is clear that state saffron party leadership is not on the same page on the amendments in the new domicile law, an insider said, adding that many senior party leaders have also been raising the question of Jammu interests, Jammu culture.
“Instead of questioning the wisdom of Jammu masses including youth as well as the Union leadership of Narendra Modi as well as Amit Shah who amended the anti-youth first draft of domicile law, these Saffron party leaders should come out of their cocoons and keep it in their mind that Jammu people as well as youth have voted on the name of Modi and not these local leaders who knows nothing”, a youth leader said, adding that if such party leaders have any iota of doubt they could test the political waters without Union leadership.
