CTA criticizes Higher Edu Deptt’ order
4/19/2020 11:13:26 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 19: College Teachers Association strongly resented against the flawed and unjust order issued by Higher Education Department for placements of 139 Assistant professors, Librarians and Physical Training instructors(PTI) vide Govt order no 201 JK(HE)of 2020 dated 16/04/2020.The whole fraternity has strongly condemned this order which ensured only notional benefits to them from the due date of their placement and monetary benefits from the date of DPC(Departmental promotion Committee) meeting which was held on 19/02/2020 after a gap of almost after 3 years, where as it should be convened every six months as per rules. It is pertinent to mention here that these placements are time-bound and College teachers get these benefits from the due date of their placements to higher AGP as guaranteed by UGC regulations and SRO 124 issued by Govt of Jammu and Kashmir. It is also highly astonishing that this unjust order has been issued when whole the Country is under lockdown because of COVID-19 pandemic and teachers are taking online classes and are not in a position to represent themselves. Such an unjust order that causes the huge monetary loss to the College teachers for none of their fault shall not be accepted by them. College teachers Association has also emailed representations to MOS to PMO.
Dr Jitendra Singh, Lt. Governor Jammu and Kashmir G.C Murmur, Advisor(S) Secretary HED, with the request for an immediate revocation of the order which is not only unjust but also against the existing UGCs guidelines and Jammu and Kashmir recruitment rules pertaining to higher Education Gazetted service.
