Dumping of free ration to be distributed in May under PMGKAY begins in Kishtwar

Kishtwar, Apr 30: Keeping in view of the Union Government decision to distribute three months free ration in the country, the dumping of free ration at government run stores begins at Kishtwar so that same could be distributed among the ration card holders for the month of May 2020.
The free ration for the month of April 2020 including pulses already stands distributed among the poor along with two months routine ration.
As per the details available with Early Times, the Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (FCS&CA) Department has begin the distribution of free ration among the ration card holders in Doda and Kishtwar Districts under Prime Minister Gareeb Kalyan Yogna (PMGKEY) and had so far distributed approximately 85% of the free ration among 108139 families in these twin Districts.
Speaking to Early Times, Ghulam Rasool Lone Assistant Direction FCS&CA Doda and Kishtwar said that the department has lifted 13080.60 Quintal of rice for distribution in Doda District among 65467 families comprises of 261612 souls added that 654.67 Quintal of pulses had also been distributed among the ration card holders for the month of April added that similar quantity of ration will be distributed among the ration card holders free of cost for the month of May and June 2020 in both Doda and Kishtwar Districts.
Ghulam Rasool Lone further said that this ration will be in addition to 34590.63 Quintal distributed among the ration card holders earlier in Doda District.
He said that ROs of 3781.20 Quintal of Rice (AAY) is pending and 4022.32 Quintal Atta is pending for Doda (Except Drabshalla).
He said that 7547.60 Quintal has been lifted for Kishtwar District to be distributed among 42672 families of Kishtwar District comprises of 157903 souls. He said that the process of distribution of 426.72 Quintal of pulses has also been started in Kishtwar District.
AD FCS&CA further said that 908.65 Quintal rice is laying at Mati Gowran store for onwards distribution to Marwah and Warwan which are presently lack connectivity due to blockade of Margan top road.
He said that 20403.90 Quintal ration has already been distributed among the ration card holders of Kishtwar District.
He said that about 85% ration including free ration has been so far distributed in Doda and Kishtwar Districts under PMGKAY.
He said that department has put all its manpower into service so that the ration could be distributed among the people during ongoing testing times.
He said that free distribution of ration under PMGKAY for the month of May will be started by the first week of next month.
