J&K Govt appoints nodal officers to regulate movement of stranded passengers

Jammu, Apr 30: Following the directions of Union Ministry of Home Affairs, Jammu and Kashmir government has appointed five nodal officers to regulate the movement of migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students and other persons stranded at different places due to lockdown.
“The Nodal Officer will coordinate with his counterparts in other States and guide/monitor the District administration In respect of the movement of migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students and other persons stranded,” reads the order.
As per the order, principal Secretary to the Govemment, Home Department Shaleen Kabra, appointed as overall for co-coordinating the movement of stranded persons from all States/UTs except Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
“Pursuant to the Order No.40-3/2020-DM-I(A) dated 29.04.2020, issued by the Home Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India in his capacity as Chairperson, National Executive Committee, permitting therein regulated movement of the migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students and other persons strand at different places due to lockdown, the following officers in addition to the their existing charge are assigned the tasks related to the movement of stranded persons into and outside Jammu and Kashmir,” reads the order. The other officers included Dheeraj Gupta, Principal Resident Comrnissioner, J&K Government, New Delhi, Niraj Kumar, Additional Resident Commissioner and Ex-officio Secretary, J&K Government, New Delhi.
The order reveals that the Ajeet Kumar Sahu, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, JaI Shakti Department Coordination of movement of residents of Jammu and Kashmir stranded in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab into Jammu and Kashmir.
