134 labourers, their families arrive at Kishtwar from Himachal

KISHTWAR, May 2:: As many as 134 labourers including their family members had arrived from Himachal Pradesh (HP) at Kishtwar in last 48 hours and were accordingly put under administrative quarantine facility centers set up across the district.
As per the details available with Early Times, today another batch of 49 labourers arrived at Kishtwar since last evening while 85 labourers and their family members arrived at Kishtwar in three SRTC buses yesterday
As per official data available with Early Times, 25 persons arrived from Shimla (HP), 11 persons from Bilaspur (HP) and 23 from Mandi (HP) yesterday and 26 persons managed to arrive at Kishtwar day before yesterday and were put under quarantine.
As per the details, these labourers belong to Keshwan, Srawana, Bhunzwah, Chatroo and Padder.
Among these majority of them were put under administrative quarantine at Bharti Vidya Mandir School Kishtwar and Kishtwar District Hospital.
The official data further revealed that 113 persons are under Home Quarantine including 44 in Kishtwar Medical block, 17 in Chatroo, 47 in Padder & 5 in Dachhan while 88, 32, 8 & 3 persons are under surveillance respectively.
Similarly 197 persons including 159 in Kishtwar medical block, 19 each in Chatroo and Padder medical block and only one person is under Hospital Quarantine.
198 persons who are kept under Administrative Quarantine had been kept at Old Hospital (56), ANMT School Kishtwar (4), Sarai District Hospital Kishtwar (7), Hospital Quarantine (1), BVM HSS Kishtwar (69), Kishtwar Hotel (10), Gujjar Bakerwal Hostel Chatroo (19) & Himalayan Cultural Society Gulabgarh (19) and GHSS (13)
Speaking to Early Times, senior official in administration associated with COVID-19 said that as per tentative estimate, around 5000 labourers from Kishtwar District are stranded at various places including those outside Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the administration has begun collection of sampling from the labourers and other persons arriving at Kishtwar for testing. He said that on the bases of the test report, Kishtwar administration will take final call on sending the labourers to home quarantine. He said that sample collection center at District Hospital Kishtwar has already been established. The official urged upon the people to follow the guidelines and prefer to stay home and maintain social distancing.
