SUF demands evacuation of stranded Sikhs of Kashmir

JAMMU, May 3: A meeting of Sikh United Front (SUF) J&K and an amalgam of various Sikh Organizations of J&K held through telephone under the chairmanship of Sudarshan Singh Wazir Chairman Sikh United Front J&K.
An appeal to the Lt. Governor Girish Chander Murmu and other concerned higher authorities in the administration was made to make the arrangements for the stranded people of Kashmir, majority of who belong to Sikh Community to reach their respective homes.
As the Shiromani Akali Dal J&K has already requested to the concerned authorities through a representation regarding the stranded people of Kashmir who were blocked here at Jammu due to lockdown since 24th of March 2020. Since they are suffering a lot now they are out of pocket running from pillar to post but no one bother for them.
Now, the Sikh United Front J&K appealed to the Lt Governor to intervene personally and ask the nodal officer to evacuate the stranded people to their respective districts in Kashmir. It is also requested that the students and other people gone outside the J&K UT for studying in other states of India are still awaiting for evacuation, they may be evacuated as early as possible.
The organization who attended the telephonic conversation meeting includes Gajan Singh President Sikh Welfare Society J&K, Prof Yudhvir Singh Corporator, Surinder Singh Kala, Raja Singh Sarpanch member DGPC Jammu, Charanjeet Singh retired SDM, Rajinder Singh General Secretary Shiromani Akali Dal J&K, Harpreet Singh Chottu President Youth Akali Dal J&K, Surjeet Singh Kukoo President Sikh Naujawan Sabha, Ravinder Singh Sarpanch, Kuldeep Kour President Istri Akali Dal J&K and others.
