JAMMU, May 6: All J&K 1947 POJK Sharnarthi Intellectual Forum convened a meeting of its Core committee members through video conference under the chairmanship of Adv Amrik Singh and joined by S. Surjit.Singh general secretary. The Forum expressed their reservation over the inflation in markets of vegetable and fruit items by brokers and middlemen. The Forum pointed out that market administration committee constituted to check over is sleeping where as CAPD (consumer affair and public distribution department) is over all in-charge of food items is not taking its deliberation and responsibilities during these COVID-19 pandemic.
The Forum further elaborated that the vegetable and fruit items which are being sold @ Rs 5 to 10 per kg inSabzi Mandi NarwalJammu and the same items are being sold by the retailers and other vendors @Rs.25 to 40 per kg. without having any rate list and in this they are charging more than 50% profit out of it That CAPD deptt is not functioning and not providing relief to the people especially those belonging to BPL category.
