Early Times Report

Samba, May 6: Despite tall claims of District Administration Samba, the migrant labourers have not been getting ration and other relief material for their survival in this COVID-19 lockdown. Sources told Early Times that the claims made by local administration of reaching out to each and every migrant labourer have literally proved empty, when hundreds of migrant labourers residing in different part of the district have not been getting ration properly.
The migrant labourers alleged that it has been more one and half month since the lockdown has been going on and due to which all construction works have been stopped and we have no work to do.
“We have no money with us due to which we can’t buy ration from market. Moreover the ration which is provided by the administration is inadequate and lasts for one or two days and after that we don’t get ration for days together due to which our families, particularly the children are facing hunger,” they alleged.
They further said that although central government has been saying that all possible help and rations will be provided to the migrant labourers but the state government has failed to do so. They have been facing huge hardships in lockdown days.
