EARLY TIMES REPORT

ANANTNAG, May 18: A gynaecologist, working here at Maternity and Child Care Hospital Anantnag, has allegedly operated a coronavirus infected patient at a private Nursing home.
According to details, the gynaecologist operated pregnant women without waiting for the report of her sample. The pregnant women was sampled as per the laid down COVID protocol and had tested positive along with other eleven pregnant women on Saturday.
“The district administration has decided to test every pregnant woman in Anantnag. Under this process the patient was also sampled. On 16th of this month, the patient also tested positive for coronavirus however the doctors including a gynaecologist both working at Government Medical College Anantnag went ahead to operate the pregnant woman,” sources told Early Times.
They claimed that both the doctors, in order to earn money, operated the woman secretly without confirming the status of the patient.
“Before operating the patient they should have verified at CD Hospital Srinagar whether the patient has tested positive or negative,” they added.
A report duly signed by the Principal Government Medical College Srinagar on 16th of May 2020 at 5:00pm declares that the patient, operated by GMC Anantnag doctors at private nursing home, has tested positive for novel coronavirus.
Private Nursing Home owner, Dr Kousar admitted that they operated the patient, however claimed that they received a report which showed patient has tested negative.
He shared a list of patients who tested negative for coronavirus with this reporter in which patient’s name figures at serial number 13.
“We advised the hospital staff and doctors to go for home quarantine and are requesting the administration to shift the patient but it seems they are least bothered about it,” he said.
Meanwhile, the health authorities and district administration continue to maintain silence over the issue as the demand to take action against doctors at private nursing home gains momentum. “I don’t know anything about it. DC Saheb knows it,” CMO Anantnag Dr Mukhtar Ahmad told Early Times in DC office premises Monday.
