BJP leaders mock lockdown norms, no social distancing maintained at protest
5/18/2020 11:17:23 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, May 18: Giving a damn to the appeal of Prime Minister Narender Modi to the citizens of country of maintaining social distancing to fight against COVID-19 during lockdown, the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) leaders and workers today openly violated this norm during a protest held in Jammu.
Moreover, the protest demonstration was staged in open defiance of the Section 144 of CrPC which has been imposed to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
As per reports, the BJP OBC Morcha led by its leader Yudhvir Sethi along with their workers were staging protest demonstration against China demanding boycott of Chinese products in the country but astonishingly the social distancing was elusive in the protest. “There was a gathering of over dozen of people in the protest who were burning Chinese national flag as a mark of their protest but forgot to maintain social distancing as they were seen standing very close to each other, posing serious threat of getting infected of deadly virus,” sources told Early Times.
The dictum “Physician heal thyself”, (Dusron Ko Nasihat Aur Khud Miyan Fazihat), fits well on JK UT BJP leaders, who violated the lockdown norms set by government by making gathering of more than four people and the most important not maintaining social distancing.
“It seems that the appeals of PM Modi to follow the guidelines particularly (Do Gaz Ki Doori) have not reached to ears of the BJP unit of Jammu, who are violating norms just for the sake of publicity and not leaving any chance to remain in news for their political benefits,” they said.
When entire administration and police have been working hard day and night to make people maintain lockdown by taking stringent action against common masses for violation but here BJP leaders along with their workers diminishing the efforts of government machineries, sources alleged.
“It is very ridiculous that these leaders give lot of references of PM Modi in their speeches and appeal to the people to follow lockdown rules but at the same time they can be seen violating them which expose their duplicity,” they said.
