BARAMULLA, May 18: As many as seven fresh positive cases were reported today in north Kashmir districts, while as four have recovered of Covid-19 in Bandipora and Baramulla respectively, whereas two villages have been declared as Red zones.
According to the media bulletin Bandipora has 137 positive cases including 2 reported today with 8 Active Positive, 128 recovered including 3 reported today, 1 death, while as Baramulla has 119 positive cases including 1 reported today with 35 Active Positive, 81 recovered including 1 recovery today, 3 deaths and Kupwara has 101 positive cases including 4 reported today with 53 Active Positive, 48 recovered.
Meanwhile, sources said that panic gripped in Pakripora village of Pattan and its adjacent areas, after a 65-year old man tested positive for corona virus here on Monday.
A 65 years old man tested positive here, which is the first ever case reported from the Pattan Sub- Division, after which the road was blocked for public movement, said sources. They said that as soon as the news regarding this positive case spread out, the administration came in swing and started contact tracing, so far 27 contacts have been traced and have been quarantined.
As per reports out of 27 contacts 19 are said to have primary contact which include family members as well, while remaining 8 are said to have secondary contacts.
The moment reports came out positive, senior officers from civil and police administration, including Tehsildar, SDPO, SHO, DO Palhallan rushed to the spot, along with health & municipal teams and shifted the patient to the nearest designated Covid centre.
Meanwhile, as precautionary measure, strict restrictions have been imposed in the village and all the entry and exit points have been sealed by police, while the locals have been advised not to venture out from their homes
It is also important to mention here that, on May 17, the Chairman DDMA and DM Baramulla issued an order that states, two areas including Vankarie village in Thesil Baramulla and Kunzer town are notified as Red zones.
There shall be no inward or outward movement of any person/s from the said area and people shall indoors as there will be complete lockdown.
However, there are reports that authorities on Sunday declared Kunzer town of Baramulla district as red zone after a Shopkeeper tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, reads an order vide no: DMB/PS/C-19RZ/1425-31 dated 17/05/2020.
