SOPs formulated for unlocking COVID-19 lockdown

BARAMULLA, June 10: Thirty fresh positive cases were reported, 595 are active positive cases, and 35 have recovered today, while special guidelines and SOPs have been formulated to implement the government’s decision of unlocking the COVID-19 lockdown in a phased manner in this north Kashmir district.
According to district wise positive cases, in Baramulla district, 8 fresh positive cases were reported, 495 are cumulative, 363 are active positive cases, while 1 has recovered and 10 deaths have occurred so far.
In Kupwara, 18 are fresh positive cases including 4 travelers, and 14 others, 375 are cumulative, 140 are active positive cases, while 34 have recovered today and 3 deaths have occurred so far.
In Bandipora district, 4 fresh positive cases reported, 229 are cumulative, while 92 are active positive cases, and 1 death has occurred so far.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo today informed that special guidelines and SOPs have been formulated to implement the government’s decision of unlocking the COVID-19 lockdown in a phased manner. He said that a viable mechanism has been framed to ensure that public health is not adversely affected by viz-a-viz relaxation in COVID-19 restrictions.
DC made these remarks during a press briefing convened by him in this regard.
While elaborating the details as envisaged in the formulated SOPs, DC said that a special time schedule has been formed for different categories of traders wherein the said traders shall open their establishments during the well designated time schedule.
He said that an odd-even system has been incorporated and the shops have been given numbering to work on alternate days. DC said that such a move was taken to curb any kind of gathering in the market.
He further said that 6 SRTC buses shall ply on 13 vital routes connecting different regions of the district.
He said that special magistrates have been appointed who shall monitor the implementation of these advisories. DC further urged to maintain social distancing and use face masks so that the risk is minimized.
